Wipe after every wear
Even if they look clean. Dirt and dust are the most common causes of premature wear.
Keep away from sunlight
UV rays fade colour and dry out materials over time.
Rotate your pairs
Give each pair time to rest and recover between wears.
Condition regularly
For leather and suede, a light conditioning every few months keeps material supple and prevents cracking.
Storing Your Shoes
Clean before you store
Wipe down and dry thoroughly. Apply leather conditioner on leather uppers before putting them away.
Let them breathe first
Air them out before storing. Trapped moisture leads to deterioration.
Keep their shape
Use shoe trees or stuff lightly with acid-free tissue paper or rolled-up socks. Don't overstuff.
Find the right spot
Cool and ventilated space is ideal. Avoid heat and humidity — they crack leather and loosen glue.
Going long term?
Plastic shoe boxes protect against dust, sunlight, and mildew for up to 6 months.
Wearing Your Shoes
Rotate your pairs
Don't wear the same pair every day. They need time to dry out and bounce back.
Don't let them sit too long
Unused for more than 6 months? They'll stiffen, crack, and the glue will loosen.
Wet Shoes & Odour
Dry them out immediately
Blot the outside with a dry microfibre cloth. Stuff loosely with newspaper to absorb moisture. Replace stuffing every few hours until fully dry.
Never use heat
Do not dry under direct sunlight or with a hair dryer. Heat causes cracking and warping.
Tackle odour naturally
Use shoe deodorant sprays to neutralize odours, and consider cedar shoe trees to absorb moisture and keep your pairs fresh between wears.
